Travis Granbois will return for his third consecutive season in Bloomington. Last year in 60 games with the Blaze, he earned 24 total points, collecting 10 goals and 14 assists. Granbois is considered a utility player, because he primarily acts as a forward, but can also be utilized as a defenseman. He received 100 penalty minutes last season and 131 the year prior illustrating his “defensive” mindset.
The Campbell River, British Columbia native began his professional career in Quad City with the Mallards when they were part of the UHL. Since that time, Travis has played with many IHL teams before settling in Bloomington with the CHL. Last season players and hockey operations staff voted on the player who best exemplified professionalism on and off the ice, and Granbois was awarded the “Player’s Player” plaque during a pre-game ceremoney on March 17, 2012.
